I have been somewhat away from the hobby for the last 4 years... Have the prices of antique tractors skyrocketed that much, or did some of these guys get a hold of some bad weed... I see on the photo ads someone wants $3950 for a stuck F14 with a welded wfe. Another guy wants $5000 for an unrestored Cockshutt 40. Who can afford this hobby anymore?

Prices haven't changed much in the last four or five years on antique tractors. One thing that makes the prices look like they have gone up is some of the people selling think because they have an antique tractor it's worth a mint, or they are trying to find a sucker. Then you have the ones that try to sell something that isn't even close to being right, wrong engine, wheels, and so on, again trying to find a sucker. Just like a few on YT right now. Most have held steady without a raise in prices over the last four or five years.
Internet prices seem to never come down. Local paper prices here are down some over the last few years. Auction prices seem to have gone real low the last year. Seems like many local auctions just don't pull much of a crowd any more. Alot of antique equipment seems to sell by the lb any more.

That"s like looking on craigslist here-MN, Dakota, WI- both you mention are $500-2000 in the real world. People put "rare" in the ad and actually believe they have one. Other day, saw an ad for a new "farm" buyer, found an AC Roto-Baler on his new property, wanted $650 for it.
