recently I brought home a load of blocks from work. There was some polished granite in the yard that was left there by another contractor. He retired and left the area so my boss said I could have it.It is a good thing I asked because our yard manager wouldnt have lifted it,he would have broke it up and threw it away he does not like stuff laying around he says he does not like a (mess). My VERY good friend at work helped me load them on the truck. I cleaned up two areas one behind the house so I could put a bench and in one area down by the garden I put together a table and benches. The pieces were odd in shape,so this is the creations I came up with. I like to get free stuff and design what you can with what you have.

It's amazing what gets thrown away on job sites!I've drug home tons of granit curbing. unused rebar, concrete blocks, culvert pipe, new unused steel lintles, and other fabed steel assys. Like your yard boss, site suppers like things neet and tidy, (safty issues I guess) Like you I have built lots of things from "job site junk"

Nice job on the benches and table.Always like to recycle things myself if I can see a use for them.

Keep the pictures coming.

"Dumpster diving" is one of my favorite activities. Years ago I brought home several pieces of 1-1/2" PVC in 6' lengths. It must have been used to ship trim; one end had a cap and the other had the top of the cap cut off. I use them to elevate the sprinklers in the garden and yesterday I built a trellis for my tomato plants with them.

I passed--actually hesitated too long--on a large stack of wood scrap at an auction. I Could have made a few bird houses and I'm al;ways looking for a short 2 by block. Sold for $1.00. I've got to quit thinking so much.

I enjoy making something out of someone elses' trash. Nothing as nice as the granite bench and table, just something useful.

Thanks for ruining my 4 little posts with a board fastened on top of them...........................

Looks neat...

VERY nice!

Like the table, and I REALLY like to see the manicured grove of trees. Must be the Kraut in me, I can't look at a piece of woods without thinking about how nice it'd look with the scrub cleared out...
