odd sized MTD idler pulley .669 or 17mm bore

I've searched far and wide and am about to either.
#1 bush the bore of another pulley. #2 replace the post the idler pulley rides on with a standard size. Or #3 toss the old MTD garden roto-tiller in the trash.
There are 3 to 6" inch pulleys but precious little at or under 2".
Anybody have a secret idler supplier?
I've tried looking up parts in the online but this 1960's vintage machine is only identifed via the rusty words " Moderline with Reverse" and "Deluxe".
The ancinet vertical shaft Briggs runs fine since tossing the points and installing an electronic refit. Starts on the first pull and is the slowest idling Briggs I've ever seen.

Don't know if this will help , but that is the bore of ford and chevy and other alternator pulleys. jstpa

What size are those plastic bushings that fit an idler pulley for a John Deere Model 46,47, or 48 mower deck?

I know this isn"t much help but my HWI (Hardware Wholesalers Inc.) Vintage 1965 22" front tiller has one of the smallest idler pullies I"ve seen maybe 25 to 30mm that has 3/8 nut on it which means nothing if it is a shoulder bolt for the spindle. When I was getting it running a few years back I was told it was made by MTD. Flip me a pic if you want too and I can tell you for sure. This one one has a reverser but that doesn"t seem to work very well especially if I get a rock stuck in it.

Somebody has previously tossed the entire reverser assembly on some trash heap.

Just located a possible source of parts to cobble the thing together.
