Anyone done any headscratching and made something on an 8n or similar size tractor?
Somebody stop me.......

whatcha trying to do.. lift an angle blade for a snow plow.

saw a pic a while back where a guy took a SA hyd cyl and put it between his toplink and 3pt drawbar and ran a hose from it to a cyl on the front of his tractor.. he filled the lines with oil and burped it and kept cycling and burping till there was no air... thus when he raised his 3pt it compressed the cyl in back, and extended the cyl in front, thus lifting his snow plow. the plow was angled manually either with a turnbuckle or with a slide and bolt configuration.

or were ya thinking about something else?

the more details you provide, the better the answers ya get will be.

something to the effect of a 3PH on the frt to lift a container of some type. Thinking a flexpallet which are about 20 bucks and hold a cubic meter (firewood etc.).
However, I already have a frontloader, maybe the approach should be a shorter set of arms out of boxtubing that extend to just past the front of the tractor that slide into something on the box. That would use my existing cylinders.

I hate these good idea grenades...................

Don't offer simple solutions when I'm trying to be complicated.............

Makes me feel dumb and gives me a complex

Was thinking it would be too much weight too far forward, but nothing I would use would weigh more than a round bale. So, forks would work just fine. Guess I'll put my loader back on and play a little.

lotsa guys add bale spears to a loader.. and some places like paynes makes clamp on loader bucket forks.. or you could make yer own.. heck.. if you want to get complicated, make yer bucket quick connect via a plate or something.. then make the forks their own implement, and switch from loader bucket to forks back and forth.. that will help on the weight and how far forward it is a lil bit.. plus will satisfy yer 'inventin itch'

Thanks for ruinin that for me........
I already have a bale fork for the loader... It was a manure fork that I took some spikes from. I can be pretty creative with it I guess.

I'll see what I come up with and post some pics if it's not too embarrassing.

(quoted from post at 15:12:57 04/24/10) I love pics of homemade implements.. gives me ideas for my buzzbox and chopsaw!

Picture this then......I think it may be all I need. When I put my frontloader back on, what if I adapted one of the quick hitches like HF sells to attach in place of the bucket? I'm a little thick headed and sometimes ideas take a little longer to seep in.
