yanmar injecftion pump

i need to remove my injection pump on my yanmar 1500D i have removed the lines and the nuts that hold the pump to the engine but the pump still wont come off its loose but it seems like there is smoething holding the pump on internally to the engine . anybody know what i need to do to get this pump off thanks

You will probably have to remove a cover from the front of the timing cover, take the nut off the inj pump shaft, and use a puller or pusher of some sort to "snap" the pump shaft free from the gear. The shaft and gear are probably a tapered fit, so it may take a fair amount of force to break it free. Hopefully the gear and shaft are keyed so timing will be a breeze. Good luck.

There should be a cover on the side of the pump housing. Inside is the linkage to the governor. Mine had a cotter pin and a washer. After that, it came right out. I left the pump cam and gear on until I got to removing all the front gear train. For just a pump removal, it can be left in place. Mine is not on a Yanmar tractor but Yanmar engine in a John Deere F935 mower. Still should be similar.
