Sweet Corn weed control

What is the best, I'm not organtic at all, just would prefer no weeds, no cultivation.

Also do you use root worm control. I have sweet corn on sweet corn for twenty five years. I think the root worm control has helped somewhat. I used to wonder if a steam roller had been playing about two weeks before the first ears were to be harvested.
 
Atrazine is a standby with carfentrazone as a needed backup. Always check the label There are others. My biggest problem has been keeping the damn earworms out of it.
 
Any of the atrazine premixes for weed control. You have to have a private use license to buy anything with atrazine in it.

Lorsban is the only only rootworm insecticide that you can buy without a license.

Pounce or Warrior for earworm control. They are the best. Spray every two weeks beginning after tasseling. I usually just put an ounce in a 2 gallon sprayer and make one pass at a walk down the patch that is 4 rows wide spraying into the air over the corn.

As always, read and follow label directions.
 
I have had great success for about 13 yrs with BicepII magnum,which is a mixture of duall and atrazine. Plant your corn, spray before it emerges, and you should be impressed.
 
Impact works very good on grasses and broadleaves and the price isn't too bad, a 1/2 # of atrazine is optional but does help. I used some Impact on field corn last year and it did a very good job. Laudis would be another option. Cost for broadcast rate of accent is ridiculous.
 
A good gardening type herbicide is Dachtal. Comes in wettable powder and maybe granular.

I make a slurry in a bucket, dilute it properly and apply with a 3 gallon hand sprayer for small plots. I have also applied it with my ATV sprayer. I have also used 1 1/2 quart of Aatrex.
Have also applied the Aatrex with the hand sprayer, just have to calculate the amount to put in a small batch sprayer.
