MF 165 hydraulics

I have a 1966 MF 165 that I need to get a hydraulic remote installed. How do I do that? I just bought the tractor so I'm still learning. Under the right side of the seat bolted to the top of the transmission, there is a small horizontal black knob. It appears that it should operate something, but it won't move. I'm pretty sure the standpipe off the internal hydraulic pump is just beneath this. I guess I need to find out if the pump can handle a remote cylinder (JD 260 disc mower). Thanks Dennis

that black knob should move unlessit is siezed tight,it is usrd to divert the hydraulic oil to an external valve for aloader or in your case a remote outletthere is also a control valve available to replace the diverter valve that you have, not sure if they are available new anymore or not used ones can still be found

Thanks Gary, On the outboard side are male threads (for hose connector?) which must go to a Hyd manifold as supply pressure and on another side there is a pipe plug which must be return?

i think the 1 plug is for hose the other is a port to install a pressure gauge,on my 35 the return line goes to topof tranny to a plug that can be removed for a pipefitting
