hello,
I have a OC46 with street grousers [11 inch] and wanted to get them turned locally if possible (shipping cost is excessive]. The local Cat dealer will do them but requires the grousers to come off. Since they are riveted on, I do not want to do this. Any ideas where I can get them done locally? If not, they're off to Zimmermans.
thanks for any help.

Can you be a little more specific, I am a toolmaker/machinist and I live in Southern Mi, near Flint. How big of a diameter are the pins and bushings? How many of each.?

I don't know who has a smaller track press in Michigan, but there must be somebody closer then 700 - 800 miles away? With a small press, it's no problem turning pins and bushings the pads on. I've done many HG/0C3 tracks on a smaller OTC press. Also Deere 420, 1010, etc.

Nothing wrong with using Zimmermans; they give great service. Just the distance, handling, and shipping I'm thinking about.

I would get on the internet there must be someone out there closer. My Dad's cousin turned the pins and bushings by hand with a sludge hammer. Not sure of the tractor I he had a HD5. I can hardly get my master pin out. stan
