If you don't stop and help out (or offer help) at a traffic accident here, you can get in big trouble. Guy stopped to help out at a fenderbender a couple hours ago on the autobahn and got taken out by a passing car. Guess they didn't think the law pertained to them. They'll get some jail time but it won't bring daddy back to a couple little girls.

Part of your annual safety inspection is a first aid kit (complete and they check expiration dates) and warning triangle. You have to stop and at least call for help if you can't do anything else. I stopped and pulled a guy out of a burning car when I first got over here, he'da prolly looked better if he had burned.already dead and had about the consistency of a beanbag. He had caused a wreck that killed him and two kids and pretty much ruined the parents. Some things you just can't unsee..........

Is the speed on the auto autobahn still unlimited? I drove on it the year of 1969 and the status of the vehicle was the gauge for the top end speed. Now my '57 VW was a brick in the road.
 
That's a good way to keep from growin' old around here. "Damsel in distress", you stop to help, her boyfriend comes out of the back seat or roadside ditch, relieves you of your funds, and maybe your life. The world ain't what it used to be.

This was a bad deal. It was a soldier that just got back from the desert not long ago..... I guess when it's your time, it's your time...........
