Cloth material for gas tank bands.

Where does a guy get the cloth banding material that goes under the bands that strap a gas tank down? You also see it used on hoods in some applications.

TIA

In the past I have used rubber and have also gone to the fabric store and just got a yard or webbing. seems to work just dandy for me.

unless youre doing a restore for the correct police,a piece of nylon tow strap works great...it comes in all kind of widths.

The sheet rubber that truckers use to keep loads from sliding works better. It doesn't absorb water. Use at your own risk.

I saw some on the Steiner tractor parts site. Didn't buy it so I don't know if it's any good or not. I've been known to use duct tape.. a bunch of layers and good to go, but my tractors are far from restored at this point..

the strapping thats on the old binder canvases works good and its about as original as you get.

(quoted from post at 15:50:30 04/13/10) Boy/cub scout belt material is close, and cheap.

Or fire hose.....Which I have a bunch of for a rainy day. It's rained a lot over the past few years and I still haven't used it. Be glad to send it to you if you pay postage (belts will be cheaper though).
