Must be almost 2 weeks ahead of schedual here.It was unseasonably warm for a week than over the weekend it was sunny, not overly warm, but it blew hard all weekend.I spread manure today and in places it was quite dusty.I know that in lots of other areas you folks have been on the land for nearly a month, but it's usually just about the end of the month before you can get over the land in eastern Canada without worrying about getting stuck. If we don't get rain soon and lots of it,it'll be serious.

Still a tad bit wet here in Central MO. About 10 days behind planting schedule. No concerns yet, but we have been too wet for two years now.

BUT, I would rather be wet than dry!

Old saying goes---one extreme follows another and it has been extremely cold AND wet in the midwest for a couple years now.

after 2 years of drought i had two D6 Cats stuck in my back pasture this week...havent had any rain to speak of in a month but there was plenty left from this winter...i hope my piece of Tejas is out of the drought barrel for awhile.
my grandfather said "it always rains at the end of a dry spell"

We're 6 inches behind on rain here. After one of the wettest years on record we've been dry since late Feb. This month so far 3/10ths. Some of my pastures with shallow soils have already stopped growing.

Things can turn around in a hurry. When I was planting oats 2 weeks ago,I was getting REAL nervous. It started raining a week ago last Saturday and hasn't quit since. In fact,I'm sitting here waiting for it to stop right now so I can go out and do chores. Nerve wracking as it was when it was getting dry, slopping around in the mud again is getting old too.

swmn-87 was a dry spring until late May when we got rain, we had a good crop that year so how does one ever know, my grandpa always said "when it gets hot the thunderstorms will come" I am not worried yet, I would like to plant through my wet spots instead of turning around in the mud. One things for sure, we'll know in a year from now!

It's not dry but there has been little rain of late with little in the forecast. Hate to till too far ahead of typical planting date (May 5) and lose a lot of seedbed moisture. Right now I have 60 acres worked up for either corn or soybeans.
Of course I will wait till the last of April then it will rain non stop.

We've been wringing all the water outta the clouds before they get to you, Steve. Wish we could send a little over your way.

We finally got our first real rain in two months last night, hope it keeps up! Got about a half inch. Still drier than a popcorn fart around here!

Hey Phillip - you need to come live out here on the High Plains for a year or two - after that, more than 2/10's will seem like a monsoon!

ha..

It's drying out here in Central NY, got stuck twice yesterday, only once today, hauling manure.
But then I only hauled half a day today maybe its not drying out.
