6 volt jumper battery

I wish to buy a 6 volt jumper battery for use with antique tractors. Does anyone know where I can buy a 6 volt jumper? Thanks

Jim:

Probably the best and most cost effective alternative is simply a spare 6V battery that will fit one or more of your tractors and a GOOD set of jumper cables.

As with any rechargeable battery you will need to charge it every 30 days or so in order to assure long life.

When a battery in one of your tractors fails, install the spare "jumper" battery and buy another spare "jumper" battery.

Don't know of any 6v jumper...why not just get one of those portable 12v jumper batteries from an auto parts store? Won't hurt the 6v starter as long as you don't stay on it too long and you're not going to touch the 6v battery with it: just ground and starter relay.

I try to keep things in good repair so jumping is never required.6v batteries went up in cost this winter.I replaced one that showed full charge in 2 cells and 1/2 charge in the center cell.
