Beemer and the old lady

I just came back from dumping a load at the dump and this old lady in a Beemer was dropping off rolls of barb wire out of her Beemer.

So what do y'all pay at the dump, since it's subjective, I know there's variations? I had a load of mixed roofing- some tar, plywood and tar paper. Loaded on the tailgate to in the bed about the same depth as the tailgate. So I had roughly 4x4x21/2. To me it appeared to be a 1/2 load but they said I had more and charged 15 instead of 10.

I once knew a guy who converted his Porshe 911 into a pickup truck. Not the best design for it because he had to put the box up on top of the engine. Some people would call that stupid but what the heck. It was his car/pickup, whatever. Wish I had a picture of it.

Ya I have seen things like that. Sort of reminds me of a Renault R10 I had many years ago. I wreaked it but loved the gas mileage so we drove it to the navy base hobby shop and cut the front end off and then found a building site with some plywood and made 2 sheet go bye bye. We took some heavy steel and welded it on and covered it with the plywood and mounted the spare on top of the wooden hood. We then called it the funk mobile. Drove that till a woman in a Ford LTD pulled out in front of me and I hit the brake pedal so hard I broke it off

I have to pay $75 a ton, last time I checked, and weigh in and out. Here is my going-to-the-dump vehicle since we retired the pickup truck. It's pedal powered and I go five miles to the dump, but it's downhill overall. The first pic is when I was putting the bed on it and the second is when I was heading out to a craft show with some stuff a few years ago. It's rated to 550# and I've had it over that a couple of times. It's not fast, but I get there in the end.

Years ago my neighbor converted a Ford Falcon into a pickup. He did a good job and used it for quite awhile. Jim

i pay 20 per ton, the problem is the nearest dump is 90 miles away -one way, i dont make the run unless i can fill up at least a tandem dump truck

It's about $80 a ton here- but there's a recycling center on the street to the transfer station, and they'll take anything recyclable for free (and pay you for aluminum), so if you plan your load, you can save a lot of weight by taking everything possible to recyling center.

There was a gent around here that won big on the lottery a decade or so ago. It was not uncommon to see a Jaguar driving through town with a bale of hay sticking out of the trunk.

Good thing you don't live in my state ,Old. They made it against the law to burn anything except a brush pile or yard waste. Mighty hefty fine if you get caught. If you get caught littering you get to pick up trash along the road a few days too.

a beemer..

state trooper pulled up to a terrible wreck in the highway. There was a beamer turned over in the ditch and a yuppie in a $500 dollar suit laying beside it.

The trooper ran up to the guy and noticed he was laying there looking at his new beamer in the ditch moaning,, " My beamer, My beamer."

The trooper said, "Hey feller, Instead of worrying about your car, you ought to be worried about you hand!. Its cut off and laying in the middle of the highway!"

to which the yuppie responded,,,, " My rolex, My rolex, My rolex."

It has a chain from the differential to the output cog on the transmission under the bed and the transmission is an 8x3. You can turn it around in it's own length while pedaling, which is handy since there is no reverse gear.

Farmers here mostly drive Mercedes or Audi's. Not real crazy about the Mercedes, but the Audis don't rust out (galvanized). They'll put 2 or 3 cows in a stock trailer and zoom off to the market.

Ford actually made a FALCON PICKUP. It was made
on a falcon chassis just like the larger
Ranchero was made on a fill size station wagon
chassis. My neighbor had a factory falcon pickup.
