1946 Case vac

I would like to know what kind of gear oil goes into the differencial, transmission. What is the best kind to use, what is in the tractor looks milkey. I think this is condensation from being left outside in the weather. I just got this tractor today. How hard is it to change or adjust the breaks?
Thank You

The trans, requirs an EP 80/90 gear oil. Any good brand. Check the rubber boot on the shifting lever, water can run in to the trans. there. Breaks are simple if you have any mechanical knowledge. They unbolt off the sides of the trans with no oil loss. they are a simple lever accuator with ball rockers and springs. clean every thing well, deglase disc with sander, remove rust from metal surfaces and reinstall if there is no oil on the brake pads. If you have oil in the bakes it gets a little more complicated. I sugest that you aquire a repair manual which you can order on this site and follow it, to properly readjust bearing preload and backlash on the pinion gear.

How many gallons does it take to fill up my 1946 VAC. I have I haven't got a book on it yet. I know it uses 80-90. Thanks for the help. Roger
