Thanks folks for all of the responses to my post 2 days ago. I did replace the fuel filter but no change. So I took it to a mechanic to find if any codes were set. Turns out to be a failing Mass Air Flow sensor as well as a VERY carboned-up Throttle Body.
Everything is cleaned now and operating much more SNAPPY than before.
Thanks to everyone for the comments and helping to educate us all on this computerized technology, which has it's place, but IMHO will never be as durable as that found in our old tractors!!

Glad you got it fixed. I asked about a oil pressure problem a few days ago and the guys on here had some good advice. Buick dealer was working up to a 500 to 600 dollar bill so had a local shop look at it and talked about some of the advice and it turned out to be the sender. Still cost 86.36 for the part and to put it on. Tell me again how good these car are, I keep forgetting. General Motors are a bunch of crooks as far as I'm concerned.

I traded my last GM product on a new Toyota 4-Runner the last Saturday in January. I love it and have no regrets or worries at all.

I had a 72 Plymouth that had a blinking oil pressure lite at idle.Mechanic listened to the engine and said change the sender .Sold me a new one for 3 bucks and lent me the special socket to install it.That fixed it.Times are changing.
