Sharing my joy, giving hope to others

Last evening my wife and I signed the rental papers for a farmhouse, a few sheds, and about 2 acres of farmstead. We have permission to raise a few hogs/calves, cut firewood out of the pasture by the creek and use the old feedlot as a hay stack for expanding our rented field hay outfit. This has been something we have hoped and prayed for (for me since high school).

Not my own farm yet, but a lot closer than a lot in town, and a way better place to raise our 4 boys.

Thought I'd share this so maybe it would give others hope that opportuniy is still out there.
I want to give credit though that none of this would have happened without the kindness and generosity of an elderly woman in our church.

I felt the joy in your words, and what a wonderful thing to happen.I do hope you enjoy all of what this farm can give.It sounds like you have strong values,I so admire that in people.

And I know you will raise fine strong men from this time on this farm

I wish you the best of luck in your new
endeavor. It would be a better country if
more people thought like you.

Try to get your own land and not too much.Real estate taxes will put you off your land.Teach your sons to be self sufficent and not to depend on others. We are in hard times and they will see worse.

Good for you. Probably like I felt 26 year ago. Almost 2 acres, 10 miles out of the city. What an experience. Course my shock was when it rained and water almost come into the house. Nother story. Good Luck
