25 year old found dead under cow

Last sat a 25 year old ,son of a local dairyman was found dead in the barn under a holstein cow. Wife and I will be going to the wake tonight as the corner has released the body for burial. Such a tragic loss of a young man has shaken our close knit community. I knew the boy and can't shake the sick feeling I got when I heard the news.

This is certianly sad to hear, and unusual. Was the cow dead, too? How was it the cow was on top of the guy when they found him?

Never milked cows in a stanchion barn then have you? I've had them lay down on milkers,start trying to lay right down on my lap,seen them have heart attacks and drop where they stood. Lots of ways it could happen.

The lad was alone in the barn, and the cow was , and is still very much alive . So no one knows just what happened, and yes it was a tie stall barn. Cannot imagine the pain his parents must be feeling, but we pray for them , and may god rest this young mans soul.

I'm surprised more people aren't injured, I've been squished between a pair that decided to lean together and it doesn't take much before you can't breathe.

Anyone question how farming became known as the most dangerous job. As much time as I have spent around dairies the unexpected problems never seem to stop. May he rest in peace.

Sad. But that can happen. I just got nailed in the shin yesterday by one.
Just one more reason to be clear of tie stalls tho...

i know a man who had 2 heifers standing next to each other 1 laid down and took the feet out from under the second both of them died.
same man had cow go down with milk fever pinned him between sick cow another all you see of him was his head. needless to say scared the heck out of him as he couldn't breath.
you never know what will happen working with animals
