OT Another photo of tree felling

52 years old and over weight , I'm glad to have my feet on the ground.It took about three hours to put this tree on the ground.About a 60 foot Pine.

Looks like he was going up to take it down from the top- there are some wires there that probably prevented him from just felling it from the ground. Cutting the limbs like that (to leave a "ladder" is the best way to get up to the top to start sawing off chunks (and pushing them in the proper direction so they land safely).

Having gaffs and cutting the stubs flush is the [b:d64c466ab6]best[/b:d64c466ab6] way. When you blow the top out of a tree the stem your attached to will sway back and forth and take you for a ride. Those stubs sticking out can break ribs, smash teeth, or worse, seen it happen a few times.
