Wife has a King Ranch cookbook and a lot of the recipes call for "a can of green sauce".
Is that guacomole? Or something else? If it's not guacomole, is there a recipe to make it?

Green sauce is made from hot green peppers(chilies) not avocados and no red tomatoes.

Red sauce is made from red peppers and green sauce is made from green peppers. Both are hot/spicy hot. Lots of vitamin C.

nope...not guacamole but you add green sauce to it and it tastes alot better imho

This is what the book means. New Mexico green chile. Canned is the last resort, but I understand you don't live anywhere near the fresh to make your own sauce.
I took these photos in January of this year.

Green sauce is available in the Mexican section of any grocery store, at least in Dallas, I use it when I make "white" chile.
