Thanks Larry for sharing the pics of the friends stopping by..

everywhere in the country here in Texas, (I am in a suburb just north of Dallas) there are horses in the pasture,but you hardly see anyone riding them.

And it's not only here, everywhere I go you just see the horses in the pasture with no one riding them.

So when I do see someone riding them I really like it!

The Township Hall where my wife and I go to vote still has a hitching rail and outhouse beside it.

Last election, when I went to vote, I found one of the neighbors had ridden a saddle horse when he came to vote and the horse was tied up at the rail. I was on the job and had my digital camera on the seat of my car so I couldn't resist taking pic of the scene.

I then emailed the pic to our daughter in Washington DC and told her to ask her friends and co-workers how many polling places still have a hitching rail and outhouse. Guess a few people were unaware of our daughter's origins.

We live just south of Dallas. I used to ride around our little town, but not any more. Its just not safe. You might encounter someone with meanness in mind, but most likely you encounter people who do something really stupid and cause an accident.

I've moved all my horses to the farm and trailer them to areas where I can ride.
