This is an interesting series of pics. No one around here ever used roll over plows. Don't know why other than the tractor had to carry twice the weight, and we could handle more bottoms with conventional plows. The striping effect from each bout makes a unique pic. One thing for sure; We who enjoy working the soil live in some of the most picturesque locations on earth. There is nothing that spurs ones optimism more than making that first bout with the plow and the smell of fresh turned soil. Nice pics.

Nice pictures. Never was any roll over plows in our area. Central Il. Can't find a plow now unless it is in the junk row. Is he plowing up to the road and turning around on the road in the first picture? Around here, that would be HEL land and you wouldn't be able to plow.

yes he is! He was going to stop to let me go by but I waved him on so he didnt have to stop and I got a nshot of him going back. JayinNY would like that farmer he has all ford tractors!

I check for your pictures everyday. Thats some good looking country and still many diversified farms hanging in there. Is that a saw dust or silage pile to the left of the treeline in the first three pictures, or something else?

Keep em comin Larry.
If you used the road for a headland in our county you would be getting a nice fine from the county weighmaster if he caught you.
I never understood why peaple use the road for a headland. Mark

Not much trash, no sod- around here, most wouldn't plow at all- just a couple trips with a good disc. Thanks for posting.

Just curious, what's a county weighmaster? I don't think we have anything like that here in Iowa. I've never seen anybody turn around on the road instead of the field mostly because the ditches are normally too deep.

A employee Of the county road commission. He mainly drives through out the county on county primary and secondary roads looking for over loaded trucks. No state highways the state handles those. Mark
