The high ground is somewhat dry here in northern Otsego Co. Started yesterday. I know the furrows arn't the prettiest, but this field is on limestone bedrock The bottoms are constantly tripping especially on the down slope. Tough ground to work, but grows fantastic crops. When this 6X20 plow hooks out a rock it is usually 3ft. across and a foot thick.I had to chuckle earlier this week when rock picking was discussed on this forum. I don't think the shop vac will work here. Field will be seeded with alfalfa and oats as a cover crop.

Dumb question I know ... but I thought the wheel on the plow should run w/the furrow ... or does that help keep the plow work right ???
Does the CASE pick up the ROCKS ??

Nice pictures .. THANKS for sharing ..

Hi Mark The 430 probably could pick the rocks if it had a set of 3pt. pallet forks on it. The uncles use a 5250 4wd with slotted rock bucket on the loader. The tailwheel has had a few encounters with those klinkers I mentioned. The steering linkage leaves a little to be desired.
Today was first day out 2010 for the 430. and was the only way I could keep up with the 7220 to take pics. My days of chaseing plows on foot are over, and besides it was a great day to take a tractor ride.

What is your Longitude/Lat.?I assume your name incorporates a mountain range..??
Info for those living without please.

Looks like my "backyard." I'm in Worcester, also Otsego County, NY and also started plowing yesterday, even though we still have a few patches of snow, here and there. But, it is unusally warm and dry for this area.

These pics. were taken about 2mi. south and about 200ft. higher elevation. About 1/2mi from N. end of Otsego Lake.
My handle is a bit deceiving, but I have a lot of ties to that area. The Blue line got stuck on my bumper hitch, and I stretched it. haha

Thanks for that, looks a very nice area, meandering land, I like that kind of country, one looks at a map and never gets any idea of the area, can't beat a picture..
Just a tad west of the first tea party.Would be too cold for me.
