I'm sure everyone has something that works, and is so simple. Example I lost a scraper off of one of my disc blades while working in wet ground. Next thing I know the blade with missing scraper is balled up. Didn't want to stop an clean the dirt every 5 minuts, or go home and lose a couple hours. Simple solution is attach a chain from the rear frame of the disc under the spool to the front frame. The chain will keep the dirt from balling up. It really works. Stan

After making a welding repair, I spray paint the weld as soon as it's cool enough the paint doesn't bubble up. Dries real quick and can put on several coats before it's cool enough to touch. Chris

Not an answer, but when I worked soil that wet it turned into a clod patch for the rest of the spring. Hard balls of dirt that will not change shape no matter how many passes. Dads rule when you can make a solid ball of mud go back to the shop.

I have used the chain method and it works very well. I used some of the old steel machinery chains and I believe old roller chains would also work.

Just take and move a scraper from the front gang to the rear missing one. If your front gangs ball up with out scrapers you should not be out there.
