Please help, i recently bought a 1953 golden jubilee and when i bought it the lift did not work at all. i have replaced all o-rings and hydraulic fluid and now the lift is working and is plenty strong but is extremely slow about 40-45 seconds to lift arms to top extreme. is this a bleeding problem or adjustment problem or something else???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What type of oil did you fill the hyd system with?? If you used a 90W oil it is the wrong oil and you need to use a UTF type fluid. Also you could have bad seals between the tranny and rear end which will cause you to have the thick oil in the system and that causes problems

i used the hydraulic tractor fluid that has the anti foaming agent in it, that the local tractor dealer told me was the correct fluid for my tractor. i think it is 303 or something like that.
i have checked adjacent rear end and transmission seals and they are not leaking at all.

The 303 fluid is a UTF type fluid so that is correct. So then how cold is it where you are?? If it is still pretty cold then yep it will be slow till warmed up and maybe used for a bit to get any air out of the system. My 841 at start up takes a little bit of time the first few times then slowly gets faster as it warms up

ave you tried the Flow Control adjustment on the pump?

it is mid 70's to low 80's and the problem does not get better after running for about 15 to 20 mins.
i guess the problem could be air, but i don't know much about tractor hydraulics systems. this is my first tractor.

Ok so then that is probably just the nature of that beast and slow hyds might be just how it is or the pump maybe getting weak which does happen and if it still has the vane pump then that is common. The GPM of the pumps is also slow so that could be normal been to many years since I had a Jubilee

ok, i have bled the hydrolic system and now the lift is working, and now i have a new issue. when i start the tractor i have to let it warm up for 7-10 minutes before the lift works properly. during that time the lift is very slow and weak. any ideas??

I was told my Case NH to use CNH 134 D oil in the hyd, trany and rear end just incase one of the seals between the compartments leaks. My Jubilee has a newer round pump and a pipe plug near the front of the pump. You can loosen the plug to bleed the air from the system. Also under the seat is a large fill plug that you can remove and take a look see to see if any oil is leaking from the cylinder.
