I need to just quit looking at Craigslist. and local paper

I picked up a new tractor 3 weeks ago today knowing it needed back tires bad. Looked for two weeks on line and in paper for used, call local jockies to see if they had a pair out back, called local tire dealers to see if any one had a "fair" pair of take offs, and found nothing. Even called a few bone yards. Went a week ago today and paid for a new set of 20.8-38 SAT's. Little over $2200 for a set, tubes, service call, mounting, and pumping full. In the last two days there has been a pair show up on craigslist claim'n to have 50% tread for $600 and two sets in the local paper one set 30 miles away for $400 and the other an hour away for $400 also. I give up. I ain't been this fed up since my wife told me I was addicted to craigslist and bet me a steak supper I couldn't go a week with out looking at it. When my week was up there was a Ford 9700 with 2500 one owner hours, good tires, CHA and air worked listed 3 days before for $6,500. When I called the guy he was loading his granddad's tractor on a trailer for a guy. Guess that's the way life goes sometimes.

What I don't like about Craigslist is the people who don't take the ad down after it sold! I am looking for Pentax DSLR lenses, and half of the people, the stuff is sold! I got one guy now, who every week or so, asks me if I am still interested. I give him my cell phone # (because he only lists an email for a contact) and he won't call me.

I find that most of the 50% tires are junk, more like 10% and most of the other stuff on CL looks like it was picked up by the road on trash day. I won't even look at an ad if doesn't have a photo. Too bad about all the scam emails you start getting when your ad starts, too.

I'm addicted to craigslist also. I check it every morning before work. It's a sickness, but I've bought some great stuff off there for cheap.

My wife also accuses me of being a Craigslist addict. I just consider it garage saling from my kitchen counter. The list of great deals I've found on CR is quite long. The way I see it let someone else buy it new and when they are done with it or figure out they can't afford it, I'll but it at half price and they paid they sales tax. I appreciate the efforts of people who keep websites like CR and YT going. Thank you- keep up the good work!

Check craigslist in our area- won"t find any bargains. Amazing what some people think their stuff is worth. WC for 2800, M Farmall for 3700, any WD for 18-2500, etc.

Me and a friend of mine went to look at a DC Case on Craigs List yesterday. Bought it for $1100 been painted but its not the greatest paint job. It runs real nice and its fairly straight.

I thought he got a good deal.

That does sound like a good deal. The way my luck is running this week if I had bought it, one would show up for sale Monday with better paint and brand new tires for $800. :)

Congrats to your frined, sounds like he got a good deal.
