Only have a 12 volt charger. Can I hook 2 together in series and and charge them as a 12 volt?

Hello Dave,
If you put then in series you can use a 12 Volt charger. The gell batteries though require a special charger.
I read somewhere that the charging rate is supposed to be 13.7v right away and then taper off. Can't remember where though, POPULR MECHANICS?
What kind of charger do you have.?
If its an automatic one it maybe safe to give it a try. I would not use a non automatic/linear charger.

I have a charger that I can set to normal, slow, or gel battery charge, just 12 volt.
