loader suggestions for a 135 MF

I have an early 70's 135 diesel Massey Ferguson tractor. It is a workhorse and performs admirably at the limited duties of plowing snow (back blade) and running the brush hog during the late summer fire season. There are occasional chores on our 10 acres when I think a loader would come in handy. After years of limited looking, a MF 235 loader (in need of some repair) turned up in the way-back yard of a local excavator. After looking it over it was evident that it was too much loader for the 135. Can anyone recommend a compatible, economical loader for the old 135?

We put a Davis loader badged as an MF 101-102 on our 35 and it has been good for the past year and a half. We move snow and load logs with it, and also use it for lifting heavy things on and off trucks and such. I hope this helps a little.

Have no idea where you'd find one, but a Freeman (not sure of model, 200 maybe) would be a good match.

Go to a good farm machinery dealer in your area. they all sell "short line equipment" These short line mfgs. offer brand/model. specific loaders

My MF-135 came with a MF-236 loader. It was too much loader for the tractor. It now rides on a JD 4020 where it might be a hair light, but I've not broken the loader yet. Warped a bucket though.

Sounds nutty but.......Have you thought of making your own loader for your Massey?

I have a new Deere tractor, I bought it without the loader cause the loader is $3200, or so. Hard to swallow when I am using my Deere for snow removal, grading the driveway, cutting grass and I bought a rear scoop for $300 from TSC. The rear scoop works well for moving rocks and boulders for landscaping.

Tractor wreckers often have used loaders. There's lots of models made for 30 to 50 HP tractors. Allied 350, Ezee-On 60 etc. Dave

I believe the loader on mine is a great bend. Plan on takeing it off since I bought a bigger tractor and loader, and don't need both. Has the front pto pump. Has some welds and could use a little work. What is your location, I am in east central south dakota.

I have a Freeman (Model 100, maybe?) with front pump, on an Oliver 550, and plan to take it off and sell it. You're probably a zillion miles away (I'm in western Washington), but Freeman loaders are nicely laid out and work well on a tractor that size.

Not a zillion miles Mike, I"m really not all that far away, in Spokane actually. Tell me more about your loader. What size is the bucket? Would the front pump come with it? What kind of shape is everything in? What sort of money would you want for it?

Dan

Hey Warren,

Thanks for the reply. I'm afraid your location is a bit too distant for me and my 135. We're located in western Washington.

Dan

Dave,

Thanks for the post. Your suggestion is a good one.
If you think of any other models that would be a good fit let me know.

Dan

Gg,
Thanks for your suggestion. A friend of mine has the MF tractor one step down from the 135 and he said he uses a big scoop on the back which he calls a "fresno". Is that the same thing as a rear scoop?

Gerald,

Thanks for the comment. You've confirmed my suspicions about the 235 being too much for the 135.

Regards,
Dan

Shoot me an email at my office, and we'll talk. mmittge at compprime dot com.

I've also got a Massey 135, so will take some measurements this weekend to see how it would fit.
