Also, the rights granted are accompanied by some drilling rights in Alaska being terminated. Whattya wanna bet that what is being permitted is virtually worthless compared to what is being taken away?

Its a darn poor commentary on the state of our nation that we must immediately start looking for the ulterior motives and backroom deals whenever our illustrious President or Congress announces ANYTHING that they plan to do. But I guess its come to that. I think the election of external_link might just be the grandest hoax ever perpetrated upon the American people.

Sorry to say, there is no cap and trade law. It only pased in the House and is unlikely to make it thru the Senate.

The US Secretary of the Interior, in this case Ken Salazar, gets to decide what US public lands are open for oil exploration and development. Save a very few minor exemptions like ANWAR. I am supprised everyone dosen't know this.

As usual the devil is in the details. Only in Washington, D.C., can you ban more areas to oil and gas exploration than you open up, delay the date of your new leases and claim you’re going to increase production.

“Unfortunately, this is yet another feeble attempt to gain votes for the President’s national energy tax bill that is languishing in the Senate. Well Trans-world Pipeline is building to large pipeline out of Canada to Cushing Okla. one is a 48 inch line and come from the northeast the other is a 36 inch and comes from the northwest and comes right thru the new field discovered North Dakota and Montana, The Cushing terminal is building many new tanks. They are huge and are located over many acres, I know this to be true fact as we picked up a load of from that area. The 36 inch line is as far as Augusta.Kansas,
