Is that a #235 spreader? Looks like ours. We've pulled it behind our 105 HP 1855 already when we needed it, but most of the time behind our Massey 285. We've also pulled it behind our 165 in the past too. Wouldn't go on the road with that one, but it does the job. It's hauled quite a bit of manure in it's day too...

It is in NE Iowa and we haven't had a rain for about a month. I am not complaining, last year was way too wet. Next forecast is 30% chance on Friday and 70F until then.

Yep, a H&S 235 as near as I can tell. My brother gave it to me and I keep patching it up. Had new top rails formed on a press brake, a new floor, new pipe in the beater, made my own brackets to weld to the pipe, bought links and angle iron and made most of a new web. Could have bought a new spreader for the time I spent but oh well.......It was fun.

Using what I have, over kill on the HP but with only a 1000 RPM shaft, I run at 1200 tach to get 540.

Sounds about like ours. We've replaced the steel on the top, the side braces of the hitch have been patched, the tailgate has been patched 2 or 3x, new apron chain (we bought a whole new one instead of making one), and the beater is in it's 3rd spreader. We had a different 235, that broke the gear box. The beater was replaced in that one with a used one that Dad found in really good shape. The old beater in our current spreader was made with well casing and was really out of balance. Finally lost too many paddles so we swapped beaters.

Ours just might be getting a new coat of paint this year, as it looks worse than yours.

We still have a little snow on the fringes of the fields. Today north of Storm Lake I saw a tandem axle Terragator buried to the axles on some higher ground but I saw some sod being plowed about 20 miles north of there on Saturday.
