Please send some of your rain!!!!

So today as I am watching the news they say it is the first March in over 100 years with absolutely no snow in our area, less than a half inch of rain for the whole month , no chance for rain till the weekend, and then it is a slim chance. man I wish it would rain here. Been doing a rain dance but must be doing it wrong.LOL. Send it this way , please!!!!!

Wow, I can"t believe you guys didn"t catch any of this snow. Central Oh. got around 30+ inches in Feb. alone. I don"t think there was that much snow in the blizzard of "78!

Wish we could send some up your way. We had about 8 inches in Feb with all the snow, 4 inches
so far in March and still raining. I usually have the garden plowed by now. Aprill is usually a wet month unless that changes. Probably won't get any in July and August. Had 22 degrees the other morning suppose to hit the upper 70's by Friday. Had a flock of robins here when we got all that snow. Hal

It is raining now in Massachusetts and it will continue tomorrow. This will set an all time March record for total inches of rain at over 12". We have had four significant nor'easters this month.

This will also be the second wettest month ever. Only August 1955 will surpass it when we had two major hurricanes.

Washouts and flooding have been a major problem since the middle of the month when we got 7"-9" over several days.

It has wiped out the sugar maple season although we got some sap over the weekend. I think most are calling it a season as warmer weather is forecast for the next ten days.

You would sure have been welcome to some of ours from last night. Whew- a real toad strangler.

Other than that, about normal or a little below normal this year. Had a dry spell about a week ago, and actually got the drier half of the garden tilled and planted. Could have done a little more, but "my get up and go done got up and went".

You're not doing it right. Reshingle your house, as soon as you get all the shingles off down to bare wood it'll pour down 3-4 inches of rain in about 1 hour. Had this happen to me 2 years ago, with no rain in the forecast

man, it's mud a foot deep out here in Va...pourred cats and frickin dawgs all last night... I don't think we've had 3 days straight of dry weather since December.

had my roof done , the roofers didn't take anymore off than they could get back on in a day.

Just so you don't forget what that March white stuff looks like here's a reminder. One note, many of us "locals" noticed that the snow in this 36hr. storm had a very blue color to it. Quite pretty when you looked into an undisturbed snow bank.

Here in western MN it is dry, even with the floods. We have been in a dry cycle for many years, we kind of forget that since we had a muddy harvest and lots of snow this winter. No snow here this March, very unusual , just some rain for the first week of the month. Fields are dry and there are old drifts in the grove yet.

I don't know what's worse. Too little or too much....We've had 3 inches today with 3 more tonight and tomorrow here in eastern Ct.

Wettest March on record. 2nd warmest also.

Basements are flooding that never had a problem, mine included.
I'll be sleeping with the shop vac tonight !

Dry near me to. We're planting oats now. I'm going out with the 8640 in the morning to get some more ground ready to plant.

Wardner...where are you? I'm south of Worcester. Blackstone River is looking to crest to 18ft. 3 feet below the 1955 record.

Cue P

I am in Tewksbury, between Lowell and Andover.

I live in an antique colonial built on the highest ground for several miles but I am still having to pump out the cellar. Thankfully, I installed a barn drain many years ago or I would have an indoor swimming pool where I don't need it.

I remember working as a contractor at the Blackstone Valley Regional Waste Facility. Had a bunch of equipment in one of the 250' dia clarifiers. Management threatened to send excess flow, after a storm, into the tank. I countered with a contract adjustment that would have doubled the price. They decided to dump the untreated sewage in the river.

I also worked on a number of US Corps of Engineers Flood Control Dams. This afternoon I tried to access the reservoir levels but the website now requires a password. They have always been paranoid about a sabotage incident during high water but they are getting silly now. Everybody knows they are holding water today.

Good luck up there in Tewksbury! FYI, they STILL pump the sewage into the Blackstone during high water.
