Opinions on Vermeer 605F Super baler

Looking for opinions on a 605F Super baler, looks to be in good shape hydraulic tie, belts good, pickup and roller look good. Anyone use these and whats your opinion? They make a large bale which is fine with me and I have the horsepower to run it. Tell me the good and bad about these old girls and approximately when the F model was made.

Used one for a lot of years; usually baled between 1500 and 4000 bales per year; essentially trouble-free. In the condition you've described, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, if I were looking for a baler from that era. I don't know when they were made; bought mine used in the mid/late '80s.

It's quite a bit older than my 505 Super I, but I know a guy that has one and he really rolls the hay with it. I helped him rake one year, and it was all I could do to stay ahead of him with a 77 Oliver and a 9 wheel inline rake. He had a 1850 Oliver on the baler, and it played with that Vermeer 605F Vermeer. Makes big bales, 6x5 that weighed between 1500-2000lbs. All the Super 88 wanted when it came time to load those bales to haul them home.

If the 605F is as dependable is my 505 Super I is, you'll be very happy you bought it.
