for worst tractor i think the sampson tractor would win hands down, gm bought the sampson tractor works to compete with ol henry fords fordson, in 3 or 4 years of selling sampsons gm lost something around 3 or 4 million dollars on the project, now this was in the late '20's ,and in those days thats a chunk of change!i dont think anybodys tractor brand produced that big a pos,

My father-in-law had a Minnie Mo, made in the 50's, that was the awfullist steering machine I have ever seen. It would start on the coldest day, ran like a sewing machine, and pulled it's heart out, but I hated disking plowed ground with it. If you took one hand off the wheel to scratch your nose, that wheel would whip out of your hands and spin to lock. Had to stop and back up to get it straight again. I'm surprised I have any thumbs left.

Other than the steering - a nice old tractor.

If dad was still here, he would of said the 400 Famall. TA and bearings troubles in rear end. But with two boys and dad around and renting more ground, it was either hitched to the plow or disk in spring and summer and under a two row mounted corn picker all fall.

When I was young my grandma traded her old Massey Harris for one of the J/D twins with a hand clutch,,hated that tractor...
