I used my tractor to push it in the shop. Won't start. O/T

My 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 6 cylinder will crank but will not start. With the ignition on there is no power on the green/orange wire going to the coil. All fuses and relays are good. I check the ASD and it appears to be ok as well as the main ignition breaker. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just a thought, is it cranking fast enough to start? Most vehicles with computers will not allow the engine to fire until it reaches a certain cranking speed. I don't know the details on your engine, but if you aren't cranking you might not see power to coil.

My grandchildren's mother had a cherokee that would crank but no start. Took a while but after a internet search they found a broken wire to the computer.

My brother had the same problem with a 93 cherokee sport. His turned out to be the crank sensor. the engine was turning over but the failed crank sensor did not inform the computer such, therfore the computer would not supply spark.

Had the same problem with my 88 commache. Problem is the crank sensor isn't adjusted correctly--it is almost close enough. For a quick fix there is a wire that runs down the firewall to the sensor--wiggle it. That should do the trick.
If you have the time the sensor should be adjusted closer to the crank.

I did the jumper wire to the coil that did not help. Thanks for all the replies. I am going to look at the CPS and neutral safety switch.

My 99 Cherokee would crank but not start. Searched the web and another guy had the same deal. It turned out the battery was going bad. Didn't have the right voltage to operate a solenoid but enough to crank over.

Flash the codes and go from there. My 95 V-8 has a bad crank or cam sensor but I have not messed with it yet. Auto Zone .com has some good info as to where the sensors are.
