That was easy money

While everybody else is hauling things to the scrapper by the ton,I've been hanging on to things. Had a guy call me tonight asking if I had any packer wheels for a Brillion with a 4 inch axle, said the'd been all over for days looking for a few. Everybody's been scrapping everything. I told him I had a few,but had more 2 inchers. If he really needed them, they'd cost a little more, but I'd sell a few. Got $80 for 5 of'em. Don't think I'd have got that much for'em at the crusher.
Maybe I should just break everything I've got down into it's basic componants and go into the used parts business.

Think you found your callin!
Just rent the ground and sell parts as you wish. Prolly spend the winters down south and them come back to your "goldmine" at your leisure.

Well, anything that is beyond use you might as well try to sell as parts. I always feel better even for scrap price to sell something to someone who can use it, but there are those who feel differently. I imagine your customer must have been happy too.

Had a JD dealer at a local evening business luncheon tell me that he'd give plows away if the customer would sign an agreement to buy all the parts off of him. Hey, after all parts mark up is unreal. A new combine in parts today would be over a million dollars so rrlund press on. Dealers would loose their arses if they just sold whole goods. CT
