We went to the Western Illinois University bull test station annual bull sale on last friday evening and bought this guy. Purebred angus, lot #6 from a farm down at Camp Point IL. Our dilema at this point is we have been unable to decide what to call him. We call our other bull Bob so it seems we should name this one as well. You guys are always full of ideas so what do you think we should name #309?

i called my last black angus alot of names...couldnt keep him inside a fence...finally locked him in the deep freeze...he aint got outta there except a pound at a time.

should have added I seen a news clip 2 cows got out they were named an and gus,the reporter didn't have a clue that they were angus cattle!

If your old bulls name is BOB [battery operated boyfriend ] I don' see any calfs. I think you should call him BEAVER EATER. Sounds good BOB and BEAVER EATER.

when i was a kid we had a holstein angus cross steer we called Snooks.
we later called him hamburger and steaks.
he got to be a pest couldn't keep him in anything and he would follow us kids like a dog. when he was small we would play with him and he would head butt us it wasn't so funny when he got bigger as he would knock us down.

My Current Angus Bull is Ol' Bill , Over the Years the farm has been host Ruled by , Ferdinand ,Continental Willy, Babe ,Tiger ,Alphonse , and Theodore.. !st bull was a STRAWBERRY ROHN my wife had to have that we named STRAHL..... somehow always found an appropriate name that everyone was pleased with ...

My dad is really good with giving bulls names. We've had Longfellow, Eberhardt, Harvey.

Get to know the bull before you pick a name. see how he performs and what his personality is like. OR If you have lil kids let them name him.

"Doc" short for Phd.
You could ask him "What's up?" every morning.
He did come from a college (auction).

We've always named our bulls after the person they came from. Tom, Gary, etc. So what about the name of the herdsman or beef specialist from the school?

... MY vote is for Chippy Nickers!
We had an angus and we called him Spot. He had none. We also had Wooly Bully.

Duh..............309. Never named a bull in my life. I was 6 when my Dad bought his first 10 cows; we named them, but went to numbers the third year; remember the neck chains with hard plastic numbers?

I just took a second look at the picture.
How about "Pig-Pen" after the kid in the Peanuts strip?
After my beating in the 'census' thread I must insert a tongue-in-cheek disclaimer.

I do, that was my job as a kid, to walk the fields and find the lost chains. I havent named an animal except on registration papers since about that time. Even among my small animals, I've got 'cat', 'kitty', and 'dog'.

You'll probably call him "That #%$!@#& bull!"

In-laws always name the steers Gus.
'm with INCASE. That's the default name for mine & any naming of cattle beyond that is just plain gay.

The last Bull we had, we all called Charley. After I danced with him across the barn lot, he led, I changed his name but I can't post his new name here!

Neighor kids who took steers to the fair (sold there at the FFA auction) called theirs 'T-bone' and 'Sir Loin' one year. Their Mom hated it... most people were amused.

Dr. Natural,
Reference to his univ. origins, and Artificial Insemination being not what he is about. Jim

Used to call my tom turkey "Dumb Nuts" until the neighbour's dogs killed him.
You can use the name, it's not copyrighted.
