OT Can you believe it. Today I got a post card to tell me that they sent me a census form a few days ago. Are they all idiots down in Washington.

Well they also sent a letter about a week ago advising you it was on the way.

So they tell you it's coming, it comes, then they tell you it should be there.

They are trying to pump up the post offices bank account with funny money!

I'm not sure how my wife and I rate so high, but we've had TWO separate ladies show up on our doorstep saying that the form is on the way.
I think we finally got it last week.

Yep, the squeeky wheel gets the grease, But if it squeeks enough it gets replaced. Think it's about time to replace some of those in D.C. especially the top one

Just shows you the kind of geniuses we have running the country. Maybe that explains why Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. are in such wonderful shape. Now on to health care.

Paul...read the dang thing..and you will see that nowhere does it say to fill it out on April 1st ..It says "answers are about who will be residing there on April 1st...must be a nnalert thing...and you claim to be educated

We got ours, filled it out, sent it in. Took 5 minutes. Something that's been done every 10 years since 1790.

I hope not to get myself into trouble for this, but over at YouTube is a clip of an old skit that had Christopher Walkins in it, titled "How To Complete The Census". I'm no Christopher Walkins fan, but I heard it on the radio the other day, so I went over to YouTube and watched it. Like him or not, its hilarious.

I really hope nothing happens to you and yours between now and April first. If anyone dies or lands in jail you'll be in big time Fed. trouble for making false statements.
I thought of losing mine since it didn't arrive in the mail, somebody hung a bag on the doorknob, but figured I'd be getting calls all summer because they wouldn't look up the information in public records.
I'll send it in after April first if I don't have an attack of partztimers.

give me a break...you fill it out to the best of your abilities...with the knowledge you have ...if you die between now and April 1st...no ones going to give a $%$%#$^and it won't affect the outcome a bit ..you have got to be a nnalert

After I got to your post below I thought maybe I had read the form wrong but no;
Question 1. "How many people were living or staying this house, apartment, or mobile home on April 1, 2010?"
Now that I know I have a counterfeit form I'll wait for the one in the U. S. mail.

Sam - read the letter that came with the census form. It says something to the effect: "Fill it out today and mail it in". Today for me was a couple weeks ago, so I filled it out and mailed it. It's gone and forgotten. Don't agonize over little stuff.

I got the first letter, then the Census form, and then a reminder letter today.. My Census form was filled out and returned last week..

I have the form in my hand as I am typing. Question #1 - How many people were living or staying in this house, apartment, or mobile home on April 1, 2010? Now, if April 1st hasn't arrived yet, and you do not (I presume) own a crystal ball, how can you have TRUTHFULLY answered the question and mailed it in already? Yes, the letter that accompanies the form says "Please complete and fill out the enclosed census form today." in bold face type.
So, no matter what, unless you receive your census form ON April 1st, you cannot follow both sets of instructions. Now, can we all find something truely serious to worry about?

I'm one of the new hires at the Census Bureau's National Processing Center. My supervisor said that last Monday [3/15] they mailed the bulk of the census forms out...on Thursday they had received over a MILLION responses...ditto for Friday...I'm not complaining, because that's job security for me, for now.

The official census day is April 1. I could be dead before then, but I hope not. I plan to fill out the form on April 1. Filling it out today is not necessarily accurate for April 1.
After the census is complete, these folks will move to working for the health care administration.

Got my second letter yesterday. Telling me I was being sent a census form. Also have a black friend who is now confused. According to the census form he is either black,African American or Negro.
