good snow bucket?

Would this make a good bucket to plow/move snow? It has the curved back on it, so I am thinking it would work pretty good? Just wanted some opinions. Thanks.

Hopefully this pic posting works.

It all depends what you are mounting it on. It looks like it is about a 6 ft. width so if you are mounting it on a cub cadet, no I don't think it will work very good. If you are mounting it on a four wheel drive stieger, no I don't think it will work very good. I can't tell the width so maybe it is a 9 ft. width so it will work real good if you have a 120 hourse front wheel assist.

Move snow? Yes that bucket would do it. Plow snow? Not a chance. It'll fill up with snow surprisingly quickly and then you've got to stop forward movement and dump it. If you don't get tons of snow in the winter, a 3 pt straight blade or a box blade would do better for plowing. I've tried using loader buckets to plow snow, and it sort of did the job, but it is always very messy and slow.

I've been clearing snow from my two driveways with one very much like that for about 9 years, and I thought that it was working pretty good. granted wider would be quicker. I don't stop and dump when the bucket is full, I just continue to the end of my pass pushing the snow. When it gets deep I can stack it high.

I agree with Buick, my walk behind is much faster than the tractor. Plus I can get much closer to the garage and clean out the corners easier. On top of all that, my neighbors like to borrow it, and repay me with a six pack, or they do my driveway if I'm not home.
