Spring tillage picks and please help identify

Started some tillage 2 days ago, no frost at all in the ground. Plus I need help identifying the plow. Its a JD but can find no model numbers. Am looking for moldboards, shins and shares for this thing. If anyone has these please let me know!

not positive but looks like a model 444,it's still muddier than heck here,I have alot lot of clay in my fields.

How in the heck can youn be out in the fields already in Wisconsin?

I know the frost is out and things are getting dried out, but you must have some awfully snady soil to be able to be out there already...

It'll be a few weeks yet before the duals go on for us, but I'm thinking about pulling some stuff around to start replacing springs and such.

I am planning to roll my lawn though. Nice & soft so it's a good time to roll out all the lumps, unlike late April/early May when my dad would normally decide to do it.

Not terribly sandy but mostly gravel, I should be mining gravel instead of farming, might make some money that way! LOL .Also one of the highest points in the county, good drainage

Well I"m going to give you another number, but I think the plow is a F620H or F630H. Those were the pull-type, hydraulic lift, trip-back, plows made during the early 60"s. I"m pretty sure the big beam makes it one of these, and not the earlier #555. The only way I found to tell the difference between the 620 and 630, is a few part numbers inside the trip mechanisim. But that won't effect the parts you need. I have an F620 and got all my wear parts from Shoup a few years ago. They should be the same as the F 145 semi-mount JD plows. After your plow, the rear wheel size was increased, and they had new numbers (640,650, etc..) I bought a manual for mine off ebay, and set the plow up by the book. It does a great job.

No, the 555, 666 and other members of that family were truss frame plows. This has a box beam which means it is a later model, as was stated earlier probably a 620 or 630.

We had a 620 and a 630 plow the only difference We could see in our was. The tail wheel had wheel bearing with seal and dust cap just like the other wheels on the plow. It was also the same size tire and wheel as the front of the plow. The 620 plow had the little tail wheel like you have and you had to grease the wheel good for road travel cause it would throw grease out.

JLG is correct. The later F650AH has a bigger beam and the large tail wheel. Then the F670AH has the hand crank for leveling where as the previous ones have the lever adjustment. Shoup has all the parts you need and are probably cheaper than Deere.

Where in Wisconsin are you at?

We're in NE Wisconsin, the farm is about 5-6 miles North of Lake Winnebago in Kaukauna, and I'm about 6 miles East of the lake in Hilbert.

The guys who sandblasted my 1600 back in 04 or 05 got a DNR permit to remove gravel from their land the next year. They were in Larson, which is west of here on Hwy. 10.

Yup, that's about 3-4 miles from the farm. It's on 55, North of KK about a 1/4 mile.
