My 850 has always started OK. Yesterday it started and ran real rough for less than a minute and quit. Could not restart it. Any suggestions? Thanks

First thing to do is pull a plug wire and check for spark. Spark should jump at least 1/4" and be bright bluish white. If spark is yellowed and weak or no spark check your points.
Second thing is remove the big nut on the bottom of the float bowl and let it pee into a can. Fuel should flow uninterrupted for at least a minute. If it doesn't check your fuel lines and filters.
Post back with your findings. Lots of help here.

It turned out to be the dist. cap. The kind with the rotor built in?
