swapping tires

I have a case 2090 that has 20,8x38 bias tires and i would like to swap for a skinnier size. Will 16.9x38 fit these rims? Does anyone near NE Ohio have a decent pair for sale?

You cna generally go up or down ONE size safely. Don't go skinnier than 18.4's on your rims. I'd stay with the original size, if youre carrying a lot of weight. Rememebr also that skinnier tires are shorter, and your tractor will be slower.

It is best to have the proper rim for the tires so that they will hit the ground correctly. Two big and they bow in the middle to small and they pull up on the sides. With these big tires its worth getting them to fit the rims.

the reason i want to swap is that the 20.8s are pretty beat up and i want to use this tractor to spray, and also new/used 20.8s are pricey.

Good luck finding 16.9's, unless you spend the bucks for new ones.

I've been trying for several years to find a decent pair of used 16.9-38's for my D19. Tire dealers tell me they're non-existant.

Standard tires on a 2090 are 18.4-34, and I doubt that 20.8-38's were even an option, so things have been changed. 18.4-38's will work if your rims are 16 or 18 wide, and are easy to find used.
