Does anyone know if you can add the second pto (540) to a Allis Chalmer 7580 tractor or is it stickly 1000 rpm???? Thanks, Barry

I think you are out of luck converting to a standard 540. A 7580 is pushing a lot of HP for a 540. Not 100% sure though.

Some people use an adaptor and idle it down some. Not sure if thats a good idea or not.

I wouldn't run much more than a silage wagon with the 540 adapter. We put a large-to-standard 1000 adapter on the one I had and about twisted it off with the chopper.
