Massey 1155 - Thoughts?

Should have the Perkins 540 V8 diesel. Not the worst thing going but is not as much torque as some of the better in-line 6 cylinders and is EXPENSIVE to repair.

I have one and it is a good tractor. Plenty of power, more torque than people said it had. It turns very short for a big tractor. 6000 is about the going price, i would probably sell mine for that. I don't really need it.

You can't buy them for that where I live.

Listen to the guys that actually have had one, there's a few around. Post this on the Massey board if you haven't already.

A friend of mine has 9 or 10 1155's now... He has 2 that run down the track (farm-stock) one is turned up to something like 500 horse, the other 400 I believe and they seem to stay together.

He has one he runs in the field that's turned up and has a M&W turbo on it.. he runs it hard, and has for many many years, last season he said the multi-power started to slip some.

He keeps buying seems like every one he runs across, and for the money he says they're hard to beat, and they run most of them pretty hard. If he keeps running them, there must be something good about them (Cause he complains about one thing or another about every thing has ever been on their farm..)
