O/T What should a guy do?

I sold my old Dodge pick-up to a guy in Saskewan Canada. The first guy who would ship it wont return phone calls he was at $650. And the second now wont return calls. I posted it on uship and they say the average price is $935, and I would be happy to pay that but the bids I got from there range from $2,000-$3,200 and im near Detroit. Who ships at a decent price these days? I want to ship this item without getting this guy mad at me but time is running out and Im trying my darnest to get it to him.

You agreed to sell international with you picking up the freight? You're on the hook. Get it shipped....

Cant take off...cows, greenhouses, customer repairs in the shop and im by myself.Dont know anyone that will ship it locally. And to make things worse he already paid for the truck and $650 for shipping. I sent him the title already.

Why do people buy and sell long distance like this? I'll never understand it as long as I live. Obviously the buyer bought it site unseen or he would have driven it home. Not trying to acuse anybody of anything or stir up a hornets nest, but it just baffles me. There's looking at things sitting in front of a computer, then there's the real world with real distances to consider. I don't know how to spell the sound of my neck cracking and popping as I shake my head.

Hire a friend or someone you trust to drive it then pay to fly them home. Have a buddy that sells cars and I have driven a few for him in the past. Then he flies me home economy. $200 for the drive and about $75 for a one way ticket from Fl to MO on the trips I made.

Sometimes the deals aren't where the buyer is...or someones looking for something very specific or hard to find. I bought my F350 (long box, extended cab, manual transmission - a hard to find combination) through a website and over the phone from a dealer in Wyoming...I'm in Wisconsin. I DID get a bargain on getting it here, but even if I'd paid $1500 in shipping, I'd still be $thousands$ ahead of buying a truck within 150 miles of my home. (and I got a rust-free truck, besides)

Situation very similiar to yours. Bought an F350 dually, crew cab long box in Phoenix. Flew down and drove it home. Couldnt be more pleased with it and am several thousand ahead of the game. To the OP.....as you already know, you cut a deal that is going to be tough to live with. First, post it here on the hauling schdule, guys seem to get stuff shipped awfully cheap here...usually for less than I would ever consider doing it for. Secondly, follow the advice of the others and find a driver to drive it up. With this many people out of work, shouldnt be too difficult. Where are you?....May be able to find you some help...or at least from here.

A lot of the time the supply isn't where the demand is.

I haven't bought vehicles farther away than two or three hundred miles, but I buy car and pickup parts all over the country and have them shipped. I'm in Nebraska and I recently bought the entire air bag system from a car identical to the one I needed the bags for from a salvage yard in Ohio. They had the complete system, bags, control module, etc. all from the same car where all anyone closer had was individual pieces.

Plus their price beat everyone else hollow. (The system has been installed and works fine).

You should let the buyer arrange his own shipping. Then if it doesn't arrive on time or
damaged/stolen,your not in the middle.

Better make sure you spell it right.....it's Saskatchewan, not Saskewan. Get a customs broker or carrier who is familiar with importing vehicles into Canada. I think the paperwork has to be at the border 2 days before the vehicle or something like that.

I would think he has a problem because he no longer owns the truck(Title is in Can.)so can't be driven any longer by him or anyone then the new owner.Kind of sticky.
