Little kubota

Looked at a little Kubota tractor today, had 3000 hours on it, looked to be an older one, cant remember the size though, wasnt much bigger than a craftsman riding mower! Did have a loader on it and a mower deck, along with a three point. Price was $7500.00. Thought that was a little steep! What do they normally go for? Granted it had the loader and mower deck and three point are they really worth that much?

they were higher than a cats back during the boom years...every weekend rancher on 2 acres was buyin em...sounds like somebody tryin to recoup all their money on it.
you can buy a good 35-45 horse tractor with loader for that kinda money...or maybe less

3000 hours for $7500, the guy is fishing for a sucker fish.

For $10k you can get brand new Kubota with no hours on it.

Bob I've read the replies you've gotten and I must say most don't know what they're taling about.
I have a B5100 and it is amazing what it will do and where you can get it. I bought mine new in 1984 and have had very few problems in the 26 years since.
You just need to remember it is not a big tractor--they are still garden tractors. 5100--13 horse; 6100--14-15; and 7100--16-17.
Be aware they do not have water pumps and completely depend on natural circulation with all the associated issues.
Value?
The loader and the mower will cost $1000 to $1500 depending on condition. So the tractor it self is $4500 to 5500 which isn't bad considering the tractor works pretty good for "estate" lots. Remember they are garden tractors.
Also remember that any tractor 20 to 35/40 appears over priced when compared to those over 50 horses.

In 2001 I traded my 12 year old 19 horse Kubota in for a new thirty horse. Both had loader and 3PT backhoe. They allowed me $10,000 on the trade which was 77% after 12 years. I was happy, even though I know that I would have paid less for the new one without the trade. They do hold their value both because of good reputation and the market segment that they are in control of. That being said I advised a friend recently to go for the 40 yr old 100 horse Oliver because it will fill his needs and he is competing against very few people for it.

I paid $5900 for my L285 (1986) model with plow scraper disc Bucket loader and in fair condition only 600 hour on the meter.

These little tractor really hold there value especially if its a 4 wheel drive.

Just for comparison, I bought a brand new JD 4010, 18.5 hp, 4wd, loader, independent PTO, hydrostatic (no mower) for $11,200 about 4 years ago. I was leery about the low horsepower, but am very satisfied with it- it pulls the manure spreader, has enough traction in 4WD to dig a full loader bucket of gravel or dirt from a pile, great on a post hole digger or bush hog, and will pull a 12 foot pasture harrow fast enough to pound the puddin' out of you.

Your deal sounds a little steep.

28 years KUBOTA experience , hard to say without having the exact model number. Some of the older ones did not have power steering and were somewhat usless with a loader. The 3000 hrs is rather high. We trade for a lot of the B series that we sold back in late 80s and usually don,t see that kind of hours unless they have been in a comercial application like a nursery ..Good time to buy new with all the programs, cheap money and lots of disconts.
