I had a flat on the front tire of my tractor (steel radial) and the tire was ruined but, it was 10 years old so not a big deal. I had a new tire that I bought last year, $ 65, now $ 101. I decided I wanted to put a tube in the tire because its a nylon. I was afraid that the local tire shop wouldn’t have one so before I went I stopped at TSC and bought a heavy-duty truck & tractor tube, 19 dollars.
I took all to the tire shop and they changed it out while I was getting a hair cut. When I got back the owner told me that I should have waited to get the tube from him because the tube I got from TSC was the cheapest and thinnest available plus it had valve stem that was about 3 inches long which will get knocked off before long. So much for TSC.
I also asked about the 101-dollar tire and they said it’s because of the government import duty on tires from China. I said, “This tire is made in India”. They said “Yes, but price increases apply across the board”. I’m baffled.
