i got a 806 deiesl hole in block on no,6 hole in side of block shound i part it out or find a new used block a ware can i find one

If there are no passages in the side of the block weld or bolt a patch there and repair the engine than use it and enjoy! Years ago a 7700 diesel combine west of Ashkum, Il. had a hole in the block and the farmers bolted a patch on the block and rebuilt that one cylinder. They ran that 7700 for quite a few years before it was sold to another farmer that put more hours on it.

I seen that done to a 560 D and it ran for years after that.

Wenger's in Myerstown Pa. has 2 blocks listed@ $990.00 each, evidently there is an issue with the Serial numbers and these two cover that.

Fixing it is up to you as the D361 gets real pricey to rebuild , And it is not a engine that just anyone can rebuild easily and if not done correctly you can trash out that new block real fast. There are three engines that have always made me nervous whe rebuilding them , One was the old Detroit's the perkins and the D361 and DT 361 . If you so choose to rebuilt i will be more then glad to tell you how to do it and make it live a long and happy life.
