Tractor has fairly new batteries when we turn on key gauges work but it will not turn over. I believe the starter is trying to engage. Tractor has been sitting a while. Any suggestions?

Have you tried whacking on the starter with something heavy? Could just be a dead spot on the armature from corosion or something.

Check the gound conections.Inspect battery cables,sometines,there is hidden corotion that impedes current flow

Battery could need a charge, bad connections on one of both cable/ends, bad starter or starter connections etc etc etc

check to see that engine is free
