I heard today that the Fargo townspeople bought the factory and rebiuld and refurbish old stieger's to factory specs. Then sell them under a different name. Anyone heard about this or was what i heard just a rumor. Thanks for any and all replies. Toby.

When I had a Steiger I did a little with "Big Tractor Parts". I think they were some of the original people, working out of the original town. I don't know about building. And of course this is all subject to memory loss!

I've been out of the loop so long where are they building the new series Case/IH big boy now? I've been so far out of the loop what happened to the Versatile works at Winnepeg?

i was not aware that the Fargo Steiger plant was doing anything but turning out new Steiger tractors and CNH industrial loaders and such.

I have a dim memory of an outfit buying old Steiger tractors and refurbishing them with modern engines, transmissions and hydraulic systems. I seem to remember them being painted orange and sold under a name like "titan " ?? Not sure on the name and color, but they failed many years ago.

I found this link, looks like the colors were yellow and black.
Link below.
Titan tractors.

No truth to it at all. They are still building tractors at the same place in Fargo they moved to in 1969. The manufactures name has changed a bit, the color is different and they are not named after cats. They have built over 50,000 and still going strong.
