O/T Bad case of cabin fever !!!

I went down this morning to sign up my Dog for welfare. At first the lady said, Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare. So I explained to her that my Dog is unemployed, lazy, and has no clue who his Daddy is. So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify.
My Dog gets his first check Friday.

Darn great country.!!

Are you serious? What kind of forms did you
have to fill out? How much was the dog elgible
for each month? Are veternian bills covered
under Medicaid? Do you have a separate room so
the dog can get a housing allowance every month?
If the dollar amount is woth it, tomorrow I am
on my way to Social Services.

Yeah Old Roy - Got the same message. Just haven't jumped on it yet. (Abbreviated version)

My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day and has his food prepared for him at no cost.

He visits the doctor once a year for a checkup and again during the year if medical needs arise. For this he pays nothing.

He lives in a nice house that is much larger than he needs, but is not required to do any upkeep.

He has the choice of the best places to sleep and, if he makes a mess someone else cleans it up. He recieves these accomodations absolutely free.

He lives like a king and has absolutely no expenses - All of these costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living everyday.

Know what kind of dog I have?

Kinda think that's only allowed in the state of Chicago.

Of course now you'll start getting visits from Dog Protective Services to see if you are caring for this ward of the state in a manner conducive to its best interests, as determined by appropriate government regulations. You will also be required to register with your state as an approved Dog Caregiver, after completing an authorized training course and a paying a hefty license fee.

I'm not sure about the details of the regulations in your state and municipality concerning your new responsibilities vis-a-vis your pet, uh I mean ward of the state. You might also consult recent Supreme Court rulings to determine what international legal precedents are going to be applied in our country since we clearly don't have any jurists qualified to make actual constitutional decisions.
