My son has one and neither he nor I am particularly fond of the tractor. It has a weak steering arm that broke and had to be replaced. Seems to be a weak point. The steering linkage also gets in the way of your boot when you actuate the clutch. The rear tires need to be loaded. Kind of cramped operator area - not easy to get in and out of. I'd look further if I were you. I've got a Kubota 305DT - much better and should be comparable in price.

We have one of those in a 4x4 and it has been a GREAT little tractor. Get one with 4x4. I pulled around a disabled 1950 JD B no problems even up a steep hill. Guy who owned the B also has Fords like NAA or Jubilees ? and he struggled to get it pulled out of his place to the road. Not power but traction. Our 750 actually dynoed around 25 HP ? lots more then it was to be. Over 2,200 hours on it and the only problem it ever had was a broken spring in the gear shift tower to hold the lever centered this was likely a weird thing ? and a fan belt broke but that was maintenance related can't fault the tractor as that belt had alot of hours and years on it ! No other problems at all ! Just change the oils and air filters, adjust the valves and test the injectors every 500 hrs. per book and run it. I never had the steering arm bother my foot ?

I have one. I bought it new in 1988. It is indestructible. I have used that thing hard and the only thing I've ever replaced that wasn't directly due to operator stupidity or abuse was the battery. It's also VERY good on fuel.

The feller that points out that the steering arm can get in the way is correct, but I haven't found that to be a problem. I'm a fair-sized feller (Six feet and 210 pounds) and I don't find the operator position all that cramped. (Of course, I've never been spoiled by a Comfort Cab on a fullsized tractor either...)

I have a loader on mine and have often wished for power steering, but not enough to swap tractors.

You'll be amazed at the amount of work that little rig will do. More weight would certainly be a big help, but I suspect it'd also lead to more problems. I've always found a way to get things done either by taking smaller bites or hanging an implement off the three point.

I pulled a 16" single bottom with it. In 4wd, it would do it, but it didn't like it much. I think that was more due to the fact that I couldn't get the plow adjusted properly than anything else. The 3 point sway chains wouldn't adjust enough to get the plow over where it belonged.

Oldryder, I've got one in 4X4, with loaded ag tires. I love mine, plenty of power for what I need. I don't know what you need the tractor for on your hobby farm. If you want to mow hay, with a cycle mower, or rake hay the 750 will do that. If you need a baling tractor, you will need to look elsewhere as it's not big enough. My land is red clay and I pull one 16 inch bottom plow in 2nd gear at about 2/3 throttle, about 6 inches deep in 2wd. I also pull a 7 footed ripper about 5 or 6 inches deep in 2nd in unplowed ground. I've got 14 pieces of equipment, so I use this tractor for everything. In over 1500 hours, the only thing done to it was routine maintenance. I hope I've helped you, Todd.

I have a jd 650 bought new in 1986 is one of the best tractors i own real handy for small jobs you would be surprised what they will do with 4x4
